Stewart Brand

Stewart Brand is cofounder of Global Business Network and also The Long Now Foundation (which is building a 10,000-year Clock designed by Danny Hillis). At the same time as the Engelbart demo he was founding the Whole Earth Catalog.  In 1984 he co-founded The Well and The Hackers' Conference. His books are Two Cybernetic Frontiers (1974), The Media Lab (1987), How Buildings Learn (1994), and The Clock Of The Long Now (in press). Brand founded the Whole Earth Catalog and edited it for many years.
